About Sew Cool Apparel

We don't use new textiles or mass produce our clothing and accessories. Instead, we rework upcycled materials and create beautiful, one-of-a-kind items, generating minimal waste.  

We are committed to sustainability in our production processes by giving discarded textiles a new look and a new life. The result: creations of the highest quality that minimize environmental impact.

 We source our own materials, create our own designs, and make each piece by hand. We proudly use only upcycled textiles like denim, khaki, skirts, jackets, scarves, sheets, tablecloths, curtains, and blankets. 

 When not spending time with family and friends, working in public health, or gardening, Helaine is making something beautiful on her sewing machine. She lives in the Washington, DC Metro area.
